Premier Commercial Vehicle OEM
Vehicle connectivity and software-defined features expose modern vehicles to cyber threats. To mitigate these risks, UNR 155 mandates manufacturers to implement systems to detect, monitor, investigate, and respond to cyber-attacks. To meet these requirements, this leading OEM sought intelligent and efficient analytics tools to monitor their fleet, identify potential threats and mitigate attacks. In some cases, mitigation measures may require fixing ECU software developed and provided by Tier-1 suppliers.
The OEM integrated PlaxidityX’s VPCC (Vehicle Protection Cloud Core) solution into its Vehicle SOC. Aligned with UNR 155, VPCC is a central cloud intelligence hub that ingests, normalizes and enriches raw telemetry data from in-vehicle sensors and third-party agents, creating a clean, unified database for threat analysis, correlation and mitigation recommendations. In addition, VPCC can push new detection rules and security configurations to vehicles instantly for ongoing security improvement.
By deploying the VPCC solution, the OEM was able to meet the mandatory UNR 155 cybersecurity requirements within its tight budget constraints and substantially reduce the volume of false positives generated by its existing 3rd-party IDS solutions. AI-powered cloud intelligence enables rapid investigation and response, allowing the OEM to continuously monitor and secure its global vehicle fleet.
